Kapono is Chaminade University’s director of communications. She had previously served the University in the capacity of public information officer. She has worked for State Representative Michael Kahikina as a legislative analyst and writer and helped with the organizing and coordinating of the state legislature’s Hawaiian caucus. She has also worked for the Honolulu Advertiser, writing for City Desk and Island Life. Graduating from San Francisco State University with a bachelor’s degree in English-Creative Writing, she lived in California for many years where she worked in radio, film, television and advertising in various writing, editing, producing and management capacities.
