Local Membership Benefits

IABC Hawaii provides an invaluable local business connection for its members and other professionals in the community who represent a cross-section of businesses and communications specialties throughout Hawaii. Members come from large corporate staffs, small businesses, communication firms, not-for-profit agencies, government, and sole practitioners. As part of its commitment to provide lifelong learning experiences, IABC Hawaii provides a range of programs and services that enable members to interact locally while keeping pace globally.

Monthly Meetings and Professional Growth Opportunities:
At IABC Hawaii speaker luncheons, members have an opportunity to hear and meet local, national, and international experts in the communications field. The luncheons, typically held on the third week of every month, are open to members and non-members. Through ongoing professional development programs and an annual MegaComm conference, IABC Hawaii gives members convenient, effective methods to master critical new skills, polish existing skills, and monitor emerging technologies and professional trends. The selected programs provide learning opportunities that enhance communicators at all career levels. Membership also entitles you to grow professionally as a volunteer and to help shape the association and the profession. IABC provides extensive support for volunteer leaders.

Career Network:
View available careers in Hawaii’s business and communication network on the IABC Hawaii website and through email notifications. Post your company’s job notices to a focused and appropriate audience through IABC Hawaii.

Member Communications:
IABC Hawaii highlights speakers, industry trends, association news and chapter activities through regular electronic communication. The IABC Hawaii web site also provides current information and historical background.

Professional Awards and Recognitions:
IABC Hawaii’s Ilima Awards program is the largest local communication “best practices” competition each year. The awards showcase the best professional work in the islands. It also prepares members for regional (Silver Quill) and international (Gold Quill) IABC competitions.
